ABOUT SCSC

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT

Sarpy County Swim Club is not your ordinary swim team. We are focused on developing youth in a safe and supportive environment. While we strive to be the best swim team that we can, and we are confident that we have some of the most knowledgeable coaches implementing the latest in swimming technique and best practices, we also know that there is much more to be gained by competing on a swim team than just medals and best times.

Times and Achievements will fade... but the bonds our kids make with each other, and the memories will last a lifetime. In addition, swimmers learn valuable life skills and teamwork!

Our job as coaches and administrators is simple. It is to care for our athletes and provide them with the best coaching. If we do that, we will achieve what we have set out to achieve... Personal and Team Excellence!

OUR HISTORY

Founded in 1994 as the Monarch Swim Club, Sarpy County Swim Club (SCSC) has continued our standard of excellence for over 25 years. SCSC is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and a member club of USA Swimming and US Masters Swimming. We serve the Omaha metropolitan area with families from Papillion, La Vista, Ralston, Gretna, Bellevue and Offutt Air Force Base. SCSC is home to over 120 active members, led by a dedicated leadership team and coaching staff with over 200 years of combined swimming experience. SCSC swimmers have competed at the Olympic Trials level, and many of our alumni have become successful collegiate swimmers.

In August of 2023, SCSC launched a US Masters Swimming team for adults ages 18 and older. The SCSC Masters are one of eight Masters swim teams in Nebraska, and the only USMS team in Sarpy County.

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of Sarpy County Swim Club is to provide the youth of our community with a USA competitive swimming club. SCSC provides training and competitive opportunities for swimmers of all abilities to reach their individual and team goals. We are dependent on committed swimmers, family participation, a dedicated board, and a well-qualified coaching staff. We strive to provide an enjoyable, and safe and supportive environment to build sportsmanship and strength of character, helping the individual swimmer to reach their full potential in and out of the water. The goal of our team is to provide every member an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at his or her level of ability, while promoting safety, perseverance, and integrity from novice to international competitors.

VISION STATEMENT

Our vision is to inspire and enable our members to achieve excellence in the sport of swimming and in life. We support and value all swimmers whatever their level from novice to nationals.

COACHES & STAFF

Sarpy County Swim Club prides ourselves on our highly qualified coaching and administrative staff. Our staff and leadership bring over 200 years of combined swimming experience, both in the water and on the dry side. From summer league recreational teams to the national level, our coaches have been involved in all aspects of swimming.

All SCSC coaches are certified in lifeguarding, CPR/AED, and first aid. Additionally, all SCSC coaches, staff and board members are USA Swimming members, complete bi-annual background checks through USA Swimming and complete annual athlete protection training through the US Center for Safe Sport. Many of our coaches are members of the American Swim Coaches Association (ASCA).

The Seawolves are led by a knowledgeable leadership team, a supportive board of directors, and supported by numerous assistant coaches.
