Overview
The Assistant Swim Coach is responsible for on deck instruction and coaching of swimmers. Every position at Sarpy County Swim Club upholds principles that are central to the mission of the SCSC program by modeling behaviors that reflect our team values, identity and culture.
Qualifications
-
Minimum 18 years of age

A love of the sport and desire to help young people succeed

Previous swimming experience- necessary

Previous coaching experience- preferred

Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check

Certifications Needed: USA Swimming Coach Membership: CPR/AED Certification, Safety Training for Swim Coaches (or lifeguard certification), Concussion Protocol Training, Athlete Protection Training, USASA Coach’s Advantage Tutorial, USAS Coach Certification- all courses reimbursed by club
Responsibilities

The Assistant Swim Coach is responsible for on deck instruction and coaching of swimmers

Provide corrective feedback that will enhance swimmers’ technique

Assist with planning, execution and supervision of daily workouts

Takes group attendance

Ability to communicate effectively with children

Build meaningful relationships with swimmers, parents, coaches, staff, volunteers and board members

Ability to adapt to changing needs of the team and learn new skills sets to better serve in an ever-changing community and work environment

Enforce and follow SCSC and USA Swimming policies/procedures

Promote the mission of Sarpy County Swim Club

Maintains USA Swimming certifications and remains in good standing with USAS

Assist with tryouts and any other additional tasks and/or duties as assigned
