STRENGTH & CONDITIONING COACH
Position Summary
Sarpy County Swim Club (SCSC) is seeking a qualified and motivated Strength and Conditioning Coach to design and implement a comprehensive dryland training program for competitive swimmers ages 10–18. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with program coaches and staff to enhance athletes’ strength, mobility, speed, and overall athletic performance while maintaining a focus on injury prevention and long-term development.

Key Responsibilities
Program Design & Delivery

Develop age-appropriate dryland and strength programs for multiple training groups that complement in-water training cycles.

Incorporate strength, mobility, speed, and core training aligned with the demands of swimming.

Lead 2–5 dryland/weights sessions per week for assigned groups, emphasizing technique, movement quality, and consistency.

Educate athletes on recovery, movement quality, and training habits that enhance performance.

Create an engaging and motivating environment that fosters teamwork and accountability.

Focus on technique, safety, and progressive development over short-term intensity.
Collaboration & Communication

Work closely with the program staff to ensure seamless integration between dryland and in-water training cycles.

Communicate regularly with athletes and parents regarding training goals, expectations, and progress.

Contribute to team meetings and provide input on athlete development and progression.

Work with Team Administrator on practice schedule and team communication.
Athlete Development

Educate athletes on strength training principles, recovery, nutrition basics, and body awareness.

Track attendance, performance, and progression metrics.

Maintain a positive, disciplined, and motivating training environment.
Safety & Compliance
-
Ensure all exercises are performed with proper technique and supervision.

Maintain SafeSport compliance and uphold SCSC’s Code of Conduct.

Adhere to USA Swimming and SCSC safety policies.

Qualifications
Required:
-
Current or ability to obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
-
Ability to obtain USA Swimming non-athlete membership (background check/athlete protection training) – reimbursed by club
-
Experience working with youth and high school athletes.
-
A strong working knowledge and teaching skills in analysis and techniques of strength training.

Experience and/or expertise in strength and conditioning programming for high school populations.

Strong motivational abilities.
Preferred:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field (or currently pursuing).

NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or similar
-
Background in competitive swimming or coaching.

Compensation and Schedule
-
Part-time evening position (note this is for a club swim team, not high school)

High School Swim Season (Mid-November – March) – Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Tuesday/Thursday. 5:15-6:45pm

Regular Season (April – Mid-November) – Monday – Thursday 5:15-6:45pm

Competitive hourly rate based on experience – Minimum wage is $18.00/hr

MASTERS LEAD COACH
Position Summary
Sarpy County Swim Club is seeking a Masters Lead Swim Coach who will be responsible for leading on deck coaching and instruction for our US Masters adult swimming program (ages 18+). The Sarpy County Swim Club Masters (SCSCM) are a registered United States Masters Swimming Gold Club.
Key Responsibilities

Lead daily on-deck coaching, instruction and feedback to swimmers 18 years and older.

Execute daily workouts in collaboration with Masters Team Performance Coordinator.

Ability to effectively communicate with and coach adults.
-
Take daily group attendance via team management app.
-
Ability to adapt to changing needs of the team and learn new skills sets to better serve in an ever-changing community and work environment.

Build meaningful relationships with members, coaches, staff, volunteers and board members.
-
Enforce and follow SCSC and USMS policies and procedures.
-
Assist with Masters home meet setup, execution, and cleanup.
Qualifications

Minimum 18 years of age and high school diploma (required)

Current or ability to obtain CPR/AED, First Aid and Red Cross lifeguard certification by start date (required)

Ability to pass background check and ability to become member of US Masters Swimming by start date (required)

At least 2 years of competitive swimming or coaching experience (required)

Experience working with adults (preferred)
Compensation and Schedule

Part-time evening position (6 – 10 hours/week)

Regular schedule is Monday – Thursday, 8:00 – 9:30pm
