PRE-SWIM TEAM CLINIC
SARPY COUNTY SWIM CLUB
Pre-Swim Team Clinic is an opportunity for new swimmers to learn what it feels like to be on a swim team. During this clinic swimmers will work on stroke mechanics and technique, learn basic drills, work on appropriate skills for the age/level of the swimmer, meet coaches, make new friends and have fun at the same time. At the conclusion of the clinic, team-ready swimmers will receive a SCSC training group placement for those interested in swimming year-round.

No. Swimmers must know how to do at least 25yds of freestyle and backstroke. The SCSC Pre-Swim Team Clinic will help swimmers learn or advance in breaststroke and butterfly.
Is this a swim lessons program?

When do Pre-Swim Team Clinics take place?
SCSC Pre-Swim Team Clinics happen throughout the year.
Is the goal to prepare swimmers for competitive swim team participation?
Yes, the goal of the SCSC Pre-Swim Team Clinic is to help new swimmers further develop and refine their swim strokes for future participation on a competitive swim team.
What skills are taught?
At the beginning of each Pre-Swim Team Clinic, swimmers will be evaluated for safety and to see what their current skill abilities are. After the brief evaluation, swimmers will be divided into smaller groups to work on skills that they need. This includes freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and swimming fundamentals.
Does completing the clinic guarantee my child a SCSC group placement?
Not necessarily. The purpose of the Pre-Swim Team Clinic is to help swimmers develop the skills needed for success on a competitive swim team. Swimmers who demonstrate the necessary skills, independence, and readiness during the clinic may be offered placement in an appropriate SCSC training group.
If a swimmer is not quite ready yet, our coaches will provide recommendations on areas for improvement and guidance on the best next steps to continue developing their skills. Our goal is to place every swimmer in an environment where they can be successful, confident, and continue progressing.
